Agro
Bio- technology Agency for Rural Employment Development ( ABARD) -
Trainings have been imparted to 78 rural youth, 90 percent of whom are
women on 15 different areas such as seed and seedling production, Cocoa
and Coconut products and value added products, mushroom spawns, banana
fibre products, etc., Further 15 Small Agro Industrial Units were started
on campus by the trainees for getting hands-on experience on running the
units. The University supports these units with capital
(revolving fund mode), technical back stopping and human resource
development. Many of these units are highly successful and the ABARD
products are being sold through ATIC.
